How We Came About
The Fauser family has been in Brazil since 1959, when, while still in Germany, they purchased the São Pedro Farm in the city, where they settled with their entire family in 1961 and remain to this day.
The São Pedro Farm has a long history of technological innovation. From the very beginning, the Fauser family sought to promote formal education and cultural expression among the farm’s employees and their children. Precisely for this reason, the two “H”s (H&H) in the Institute’s name pay tribute to the Fauser couple, Hans and Hildegard, for their contribution to the region’s economic and cultural development—a legacy that the Institute is committed to continuing.
For many years, the Institute’s headquarters was the former school of the São Pedro Farm, which was the primary focus of the Institute’s activities and a municipality within the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserves and the Green Belt of the City of São Paulo.
